Although I've posted about this before, I didn't actually include a play-able version of it. So, to make things right, and to send a shout-out to my friend stuck in Bahrain (and who recently unpacked a thermometer - listen to the song, you'll get it) I present to you the "Glorified" remix of The Thermos Song - as performed by Steve Martin in "The Jerk."

Mash-up: Werewolves of Alabama (2 mashups not by Kid Rock)

Just because Kidd Rock's mash-up (which isn't) is buring up the charts with "All Summer Long" cobbling pieces of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Warren Zevon, doesn't mean his was first.

Today I present TWO mashups of this idea, though they go a bit further with the idea.

Buzzword, old, heard in staff meeting this week for the first time. Don't like it, sounds nasty.

Red Mouse Cusors, and other colors too!

These are my favorite mouse cursor replacements. Any system I work on regularly, these get installed. The Red color makes them very easy to see on-screen, and are great for software demos or presentations.

How to Join DivX/AVI files - for Free

Ever downloaded a multi-part Divx video? Maybe converted a multi-part YouTube video from FLV to AVI, but want to join them into one big file?

This will do the trick!

It will only take a few minutes to merge DivX/AVI files, no reencoding required. Install and start Virtualdub (extract all files to a folder and run the virtualdub.exe file). Open the first videoclip, File->Open video file Select File->Append Video Segment to open and add other videoclips. Repeat this step until you have add all you videoclips. Select under Audio->Direct Stream Copy. Select also under Video->Direct Stream Copy. Lasthit File->Save AVI and save the new joined movieclip.

How To Get Around NBC's Olympic Online Video Restrictions

Don't have cable/sat? "No online Olympic video for you!" says NBC. Even if you do have cable, you may not get to watch. But there is hope, read the linked article for more.

The workaround I found? Select another zip code and known big-name provider for that are. I personally selected 97403 (a Eugene zip code) and Comcast and was able to get in fine. So just get a zip code for one of Comcast's markets and use it, since Comcast appears to be participating Wired Wiki has a great bit on how to watch the Olympics online.
