Today was a great day! My BzzAgent Kit arrived, wherein I get to sample the new Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips.
Full disclosure: I am a BuzzAgent, where I have the chance to experience a product or service (usually before it is on the market). I am expected to be genuine and honest when creating Bzz, and am not asked to skew my opinion one way or the other. You can be a BzzAgent too, just sign up here.
The strips are pretty thin, as you'd expect. I wasn't sure what to do with them, but thankfully the package had the very simple instructions on the back. The packs are smallish and can fit in your pocket, so you can put them on anytime.
Once you have the strip out (one per pack), you can just put it on your teeth, fold it over, and get on your way. The notch is the key, it has to face a certain way or else the whitening won't work (the pack shows you how to apply it).
Here are my teeth before I put the strips on (sorry about the nasal shot).
And now, with them on.
Honestly, you can't tell I have them on. I was visitng with a gal a few weeks ago, and I could plainly see a clear flap extending from her front teeth. It just looked weird. But the Listerine Whitening Strips were nearly invisible.
Now for the "Quick Dissolving" part of the strips. The first day, I'd say it took about 30 minutes for them to dissolve. But then again, I waited to drink anything - I wanted them to last as long as possible.
My plan is to do a strip on the upper and one on the lower teeth, twice a day for about 2 weeks.
I think they'd be a bit quicker if I'd just let them dissolve like normal. I'll update on that.
As for the flavor, I thought it was just OK. It wasn't minty like gum or toothpaste. It wasn't medicine-ey like some mouthwash. I'm not sure how to describe it. Not overly wonderful, but not yucky. It is just OK. And one thing I was worried about, was burning. Previously we've tried strips that burned the gums. With the Listerine Strips, I've had no such reaction. No burning or irritation. It was great.
Of course, I won't see results for a while so I won't be taking photos every day. But here and there I will, and hopefully soon I will see some change. All that coffee drinking has caught up with me, and I am ready to brighten my smile.
(This is a retroactive post, I actually started on 12/7/07)
