Time to Reconnect

It is time to reconnect, I think. Have you ever thought that?

A lot of time has passed. Enough time actually. I think.

Still, it is hard to make the first move.

How can you know? How do you take that risk? Just step out and put yourself out there?

I don't like rejection, or being shot down.

I guess I need a sign.

 

So I wait.

This used to be "My Other Blog"

When you started at Vox, did ever see this as your "Other Blog?" I did. When I got an invite to be a Beta tester, I pretty much knew this was a short-term thing for me. My own blog, my own domain, yeah, that was the way to go!

But now, my original blog has become my "Other Blog."

Yeah I keep it around, but I don't do any "personal" blogging there anymore. It's more of my pocket change blog, earning a little income from ads and affiliates. But it isn't really any fun there. Not anymore.

No, the fun is to be had here at Vox. You have "Friends" and "Neighbors" (see mine)  and you can join "Groups" (see mine). Plus its just way easier to keep in touch. (Though, Facebook is better at that)

Here there is community, and connection.

At my "Other Blog" all that faded away. Maybe I faded away.

But I really dig it here at Vox, and I will be here for the long haul.

And if you don't, YOU should have a Blog here. It would be fun. Again. And aren't you ready for that after all this time?

Hack: Rip Out The Ads From Yahoo Messenger

Visit the site to grab the .bat file which removes the annoying banner ad in your Contacts List. Swanky!

How to get rid of the ads? If you install new versions of Yahoo Messenger, you'll have to repeat the steps above, as Yahoo setup rewrites the registry entries. New versions will most likely make removing the ads more difficult or even impossible.

Be Notified when Google Reader has new Items (Firefox)

Now that Google Reader has search, the only missing feature is an alert when you have new items in your subscribed feeds. For now, if you use Firefox, you can use this extension.

A CleVR way to Embed panoramas on your website

If you take panoramas (and like me, never do anything with them), then this is a great way to get them on the web!

clipped from reymendoza.blogspot.com Its so CleVR panoramic view or otherwise known as Virtual Reality (VR). It uses Adobe Air, formerly known as Apollo in its beta. Since I've had panoramic photos in my pc, I tried uploading one, a view from the facade of the main building of the oldest University in Asia - The royal and pontifical University of Santo Tomas. And it was easy, really! and you can add hotspots (links to other panorama) within the panorama itself. You can stitch photos online in this application but I'd rather stitch offline so I can still tweak it in Photoshop. This is a good application, not to mention free. And it works! There's a button on the panorama page to email it to a friend. Or you could add it to your blog or website or click one of the little links at the bottom of the page to add it to Facebook etc.

Fried Cookie Dough - State Fair Nirvana Finally Achieved

"This year, I decided I was going to make something that really tasted good to me, and I really like this cookie dough," Mr. Gonzales said soon after being given his trophy, an Oscar-esque statuette with a Big Tex plastic head glued on top. Some contest entries were sweet and some were savory, but all were finished off in the fryer. Mr. Gonzales' frying forte is becoming the stuff of legend at the State Fair. This is the third Big Tex award he has nabbed. His first was in 2005 for his Fried Peanut Butter, Jelly and Banana Sandwich, a tribute to Elvis Presley.

When I saw this on the Yahoo blog, I had no idea what it was. All I can say is that it is scary how many of these references I actually know. Thankfully, there are some I don't (though "Chocolate Rain" is in there, and that was new to me as of last week).

If anything this video tells me I think I need to spend more time away from the computer!
