When I ordered my Nokia 6133 from T-Mobile, I knew I was taking a chance.
I recently decided I do NOT want to carry a Pocket PC attached to my belt anymore. Yeah, I geeked out for a while, but I'm over it. Plus, my office used Lotus Notes (ick) and the Pocket PC won't sync with anything other than Outlook (unless you buy a 3rd party app like Intellisync). So, I wanted a cell phone which would sync with Lotus, and be a pretty cool phone too.
Well, Nokia has a PC Suite that will synch their phone contacts, calendar and To-Do with Outlook AND Lotus Notes!
The Nokia 6133 was all that I could get from T-Moble that had the extras I wanted (like camera, video, SD card) for free, but it was not listed as a compatible device on the Nokia Suite download page. They did list a 6131 and a 6136, and they looked a lot like the 6133. So I figured T-Mobile just re-numbered that model due to some agreement with Nokia.
Like I said, I was taking a chance.
I also had to oder a USB cable specific to Nokia phones, thankfully Amazon.com has the one I needed (CA-53) for cheap. A bluetooth connection would have worked, but I don't have that on my PC.
Today, I installed the Nokia Suite, plugged in my phone, entered my Lotus details, and Zaloom! It sent all my info to the phone!
Yeah, baby! I know this is a geeky post, but I had to engage in a bit of geek (setting this up) to detach some geek (Pocket PC on the hip).
So, I am posting this for anyone who might be wondering (like I was) and googleing (like I was) to find informaiton on this specific phone connecting to the Nokia suite (which I didn't ever find).
Anyway, sorry for the moment of Geek. It has passed, and should not rear its ugly head again!
