So, this is a pretty simple mash-up, mostly an A+B. But it is a pretty smooth blend of "When Doves Cry" and "9pm (Til I Come)."

I have no idea where I got it, but it was sometime around late 2001 and the title is actuall "Atb Vs Prince - 9pm Til Doves Cry Remix Dj Polish Sausage Mix"

XANADU on Broadway - FINALLY!

Well, this is a day I saw coming. Come on, it was only a matter of time. Could any cheesy 80s movie be MORE deserving of transformation into a Broadway musical than Xanadu??

Composing "All Along The Watchtower" for BSG

I really loved the version of "All Along The Watchtower" that was created for the finale of Battlestar Galactica. On this blog post, BSG composer Bear McCreary details his experience of creating the new version of the Dylan/Hendrix classic.

No temp scores, no music notes... not even any picture to score! I was on my own, free to arrange this piece in any way I saw fit. So, in early January, with nothing to lose, I set out to do my first All Along the Watchtower demo. So how did I go about creating this unique version of All Along the Watchtower?

Where My Mind Was This Week

Well, the week began with posting a few mash-ups, about free music, and how to capture flash and links to some cool apps.

As the week went on, I thought about Coffee, then got interested in Family 2.0 solutions for sharing pics and info between family members.

By the end of the week, my hunger/urge to be creative took hold, and I began to hyper-focus on creativity, art, and how  I might benefit from less television and other such distractions.

I am not sure what to make of this, other than art (music, photo sharing, artblogs) has been prominent in nearly everything I've posted about this week.

Does this mean something?

Feels like I need to get drawing again. I always get that itch when I check out sketch/art blogs. Basically, this post is one HUGE bookmark, which I can use when I want inspiration. I plan to update it as I find new blogs.

BTW - Do you ever get so intimidated that you aren't that good at something, so you don't even try? I'm in that mode at the moment...

There must be a point here.  (he smiles).  Oh, yes, the point.  "Music & Life" is a cartoon. A cartoon you oughta watch (1 minute of your life, max).  A dang fine cartoon, actually.  A dang fine cartoon that takes you by surprise because part of you is waiting for the sarcastic sucker-punch and part of you is really swept up inside the whole thing.  Combining almost-zen instincts, traditional Japanese stringed music (and some classical western stuff thrown in the mix as well), the vocal cadence of poets,...and "South Parkian" caliber cartoon drawings (oy!)...the cartoon gives life to one of the recordings of Alan Watts as he explores the 'point' of education by comparing it to music.

Heroeswatch - My other blog

It has been a while since I blogged about a favorite show. And I have never had a blog just dedicated to a single show. But that changed when the WebbleYou Network was looking for new bloggers. I like Heroes, and there was no one blogging about it, so I signed on.

It has been a slow start, but I think I can get this new blog, Heroeswatch, rolling. With 12 days to the premiere of the 3rd arc of the show, I am finding a lot of things to post.

I hope you will stop by, and leave a comment or two. I hate that I have no comments! But a new blog always is a slow start. Anyhow, if you watch Heroes, then Heroeswatch.com is for you.
